SB48 passed unanimously today in the Senate, so it moves on to the House! It will likely gain momentum after Crossover Day on March 7th, but now is the time to lay the foundation and reach out to Representatives in the House.

If your Representative is on the House Education Committee, would you please reach out to them and let them know your story, and how they can help by supporting SB48 as it makes it way to the House Education Committee? We would love for them to co-sponsor SB48.

Thank you so much to each and every one of you who called, emailed, wrote or Tweeted to your Senators! Now it’s time to get started on the same process in the House!

If you haven’t had a chance to see some of the coverage this bill has received, check out this story on WABE and this one in the AJC, and this passionate speech by Senator Jen Jordan on the floor of the senate.

Your calls and emails helped us get the bill this far, but we need to stay active until we get SB48 passed in the house as well, so stay tuned for updates.  Thank you for all you do!
